The Pchem IgM Reagent Kit (2nd Generation) has been designed for the quantitative in vitro determination of Immunoglobulin M (IgM) in human serum by turbidimetric immunoassay.
This kit is intended for In vitro diagnostic use only, must not be sold to the general public and the test has to be carried out by a health-care professional person.
The kit contains reagents sufficient for 179 tests.
IgM is important in early response to infections. The measurement of IgM is important for typing immunodeficiencies and myelomas. IgM plays an important role in the humoral defense of the body. Serum levels may be increased in all kind of acute infections. Elevated levels in cord serum suggest clinical infection in the newborn.
